Hollinger, David A. Postethnic America: Beyond Multiculturalism. New York: Basic Books, Inc., 1996.

Thesis: Post-ethnic society.

Criticism: Does not talk about the radical path for ridding society of ethnicity and racism. I do like Hollinger's idea about a post ethnic society. He suggests that we consider a society that rids itself of the pluralism that multiculturalism has created and people can volunteer to be in a "society" based on what/how they see themselves rather than the ethno-bloc that the government has created. I struggle with how all langauges could be carried forth in a cosmopolitan society.
